Resource Management Associates History

Resource Management Associates (RMA) is a consulting firm founded in 1980 to serve financial institutions.  Our clients include commercial banks, savings banks, credit unions and mortgage banks throughout the United States. RMA delivers unique professional services blending the disciplines of industrial engineering into performance improvement through cost accounting, project management, and technology and payments vendor management.

RMA’s consulting approach is “hands on.”  We identify needs, train people, design the solution, plan and oversee the implementation.  Our deliverables have been developed in the field, not in an office or academic environment.

Over the past thirty plus years we have created, and continually improved practical solutions to difficult challenges in the financial industry.  The initial assignment for our first client in early 1981 was a cost accounting and organizational profitability project.  Since then the system has been refined and advanced to Simplified Profitability, the subject of this book.

Edward B. Ginn, PE is President of RMA and is the primary author. Tom Gerry serves as a Vice President of RMA, and has contributed content, editing, design and publishing through knAct, LLC.

RMA Strengths

In addition to Simplified Profitability for organization responsibility centers, we also extend this foundation for our clients to perform product and customer cost accounting and profitability analysis. Those are the subjects of two future volumes we will publish.

Our deep experience in technology system evaluation and selection has led to our proprietary migration studies that compare the total cost over a six to ten year period of the strategic alternatives of in-house vs. outsourced core, items and ATM/Debit processing with the associated disaster recovery.

We are noted for our business continuity approach that adds the practical planning and testing for the financial institutions’ people as well as the infrastructure.

We have applied the unique RMA cost accounting, evaluation and selection techniques with the comprehensive payments approach described in the book, Payments Power, authored by Tom Gerry, to create performance improvement programs for ATM/Debit processing, and a unique merchant services competitive strategy.
